Thanks to the generosity of our alumni, we have surpassed our $250,000 fundraising goal ensuring we can breathe new life into this historic campus landmark.
For generations of St. Joseph’s students, the Parlors in Burns Hall have been more than just a room.
Built in the 1800s and retaining its original Georgian style, the Parlors have hosted countless conversations, celebrations and quiet moments that helped shape the student experience.
Today, after decades of use, time has taken its toll. This much needed restoration will preserve the Parlors historic beauty and reimagine them for modern use, ensuring this cherished space continues to inspire students and alumni for generations to come.
Our restoration project will:
- Repair and refinish the original flooring in the Parlors, adjoining hallway, and the Mary Jo Chiara ’69 Reception Room
- Restore the intricate decorative ceiling and wall details
- Refurbish windows and window seats
- Furnish the room with elegant, comfortable décor
- Install a sound system to support lectures, readings, and special events
