President’s Report

A LETTER FROM THE 2021-2022 PRESIDENT’S REPORT

Dear friends,

It gives me great pleasure to share with you St. Joseph’s University, New York’s annual President’s Report — the first such publication that we have produced under our new University designation. It focuses on the inspiring support we received from our alumni and friends during the 2021-2022 fiscal year.

Two remarkable examples of students directly affected by your philanthropy are featured in this edition. Emily Burroughs, a senior biology major who plays on the softball team at our Brooklyn Campus, is pursuing her longtime dream of becoming a genetics counselor. And the Long Island Campus’ Alec Tabada is an accounting major and star player on the men’s basketball team who is following through on his dream to become a licensed certified public accountant.

Like Emily and Alec, hundreds of other SJNY students benefit from endowed scholarships established and maintained through your generosity. Through your life-changing assistance, they are reaching their goals and fulfilling their dreams.

Furthermore, your giving helps St. Joseph’s make impactful physical improvements at our campuses in Patchogue, Long Island and Clinton Hill, Brooklyn. You have given more than $3 million to offset construction costs of the Long Island Campus’ new $17 million Student Center, which is on track to open this year. And your generosity has resulted in beautiful renovations of our Brooklyn Campus’ two chapels.

We are exceedingly grateful for your loyalty to St. Joseph’s University and your commitment to our students, faculty and staff. You are clearly dedicated to keeping alive our institution’s transformational character.

Thank you for your unwavering support.

Sincerely,

Donald R. Boomgaarden, Ph.D.
President, St. Joseph’s University, New York
